One prompt. One site.
You need a website for your portfolio, your courses or a new idea. You can get a first draft without learning to code: describe it to ChatGPT or Claude, then use a Cloudflare connection to handle publishing in the same conversation.
Start with a working, single-page introduction. You create the accounts and authorize the connection; you request design, development and revisions in plain language. How quickly the first version arrives depends on the features you request and your account limits.
First: what exactly is free?
HTML, CSS, JS and image requests on Cloudflare Workers Static Assets are free. Server code and additional services have separate limits.
Hosting terms ↗Claude Free supports one custom connector, subject to usage limits. Custom MCP access in ChatGPT depends on your plan and workspace; do not assume Free includes it.
Claude ↗ · ChatGPT ↗A workers.dev address is enough for a first experiment. Buying your own .com domain is a separate expense; you can connect it later.
Address options ↗01 — Create your Cloudflare account
Cloudflare provides the hosting that makes your website accessible online. Create a free account, complete email verification if requested, and sign in to the dashboard. You do not need to buy a domain for this guide.
02 — Add Cloudflare through connectors
A connector lets the AI take actions in your Cloudflare account. Typing “use Cloudflare” does not grant access by itself. Connect the service first, then enable it in your conversation.
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- If Cloudflare is listed, review its capabilities and connect it. Otherwise select + → Add custom connector.
- Name it Cloudflare API and enter the official server address below.
- Complete Cloudflare sign-in and authorization. Enable it in the chat through + → Connectors.
- Look for Cloudflare in ChatGPT Plugins / app connections and connect it if available.
- For a custom connection, enable Developer mode in Settings → Security and login if your account supports it.
- In ChatGPT Plugins → +, create a connection with the MCP URL below and complete Cloudflare authorization.
- Add the connection from the tools menu in a new conversation. If unavailable, check access or use the Claude route.
https://mcp.cloudflare.com/mcpMenu labels may vary by version. In Cloudflare’s OAuth screen, select the account and necessary Workers permissions. Do not paste your password or secret key into chat.
Try this first: “Check my Cloudflare connection and confirm the account and website deployment permissions.” Once the connection works, send the prompt below.
03 — Send a short prompt and get a first draft
A useful prompt says who you are, what you offer, how the site should feel and where it should be hosted. Copy the template, fill in the bracketed fields with your own details and send it. See the completed example just below for inspiration.
You are a professional website developer. Build a professional, animated, mobile-friendly, SEO- and GEO-focused website for [My name / brand]. About me: [A short introduction]. My services: [List your services]. Contact: [Email / social media]. Include About, Services and Contact sections. Use Cloudflare through connectors for hosting; start on the free plan and guide me where needed. Ask if you need more details.
The AI may ask about colors, your audience or examples of your work. Give short answers and add any images you already have. If photos or testimonials are missing, ask for placeholders instead of invented content.
04 — Review the first version and refine it in chat
Use the first design as a starting point. This interactive illustration shows a possible direction: switch the device view and accent color. It is a design demo, not a deployed website.
into reality.
Mobile apps. AI. Thoughtful design.
Let’s build together ↗More expressive
“Add a strong headline, a colorful visual and a gentle entrance animation to the first screen.”
More understandable
“Explain my services in three short cards, each describing the benefit to the customer.”
Faster
“Optimize images, check mobile layout and respect reduced-motion preferences.”
SEO and GEO: beyond looking good
SEO helps search engines discover and understand your page. GEO aims to make the content understandable and useful as a source in AI-generated answers. Adding the two terms to a prompt does not guarantee visibility or rankings; request concrete improvements.
Ask for unique page titles and descriptions, meaningful headings, image alt text, a sitemap and correct canonical URLs.
State the name, expertise and services clearly. Ask for Person / Organization data consistent with visible content, concise answers and verifiable profile links.
05 — Check it, then publish
When you like the preview, say: “Deploy the site to Cloudflare using services compatible with the free plan and share the working URL. Explain first if a paid service is needed.” Complete any tool authorization step. Generated code alone is not a published site; ask for a live link you can open.
If direct deployment fails, share the error in the same conversation and ask the AI to check connection permissions. If necessary, ask it to guide you through uploading files in the Cloudflare dashboard. A connected account does not guarantee automatic deployment of every project.
Keep iterating after launch: “Add a service card,” “Shorten my bio,” or “Create an English version.” Forms, payments and member accounts need working services behind them; discuss those separately. A visible form does not mean its messages reach you.
Make the first step a version you can work with. Create the account, connect it and describe yourself. Then improve the result with each message.
