How to play Sudoku
Sudoku is a logic puzzle on a 9×9 grid split into nine 3×3 boxes. Some numbers are filled in to start. Your job is to complete the grid so that every row, every column, and every 3×3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once. There's no guessing required — every puzzle has one solution you can reach with logic.
How to play here
- Tap an empty cell to select it, then tap a number to place it.
- Use ⌫ (or Backspace) to clear a cell you filled in.
- Given clues are locked and can't be changed. A wrong number flashes red and counts as a mistake.
Solving tips
- Scan for singles. Find cells where only one digit can possibly fit.
- Check each box. See which digits a 3×3 box is still missing.
- Cross-hatch. Use rows and columns together to rule out positions.
- Pencil it in mentally. Track the candidates for tricky cells.
